Somebody should have told Kanye West this is a festival performance, not a stop from his Yeezus tour.
Due to illness, Drake was not able to perform at the 2014 Wireless Festival in Birmingham, UK, last night, so Mr. West has to substitute him and deliver a set of
his own. As per usual, Ye delivered solid set, including performances of “Mercy,” “All Of The Lights,” “Touch The Sky,” and “Blood On The Leaves.”
However, in the middle of his stage appearance, West delivered almost 20-minute rant about lack of creativity, discrimination from big fashion brands not accepting him because he’s black, his marriage to Kim Kardashian. Said Kanye while on the stage:
I’m not going to mention any names but… Nike, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Don’t discriminate against me ‘cos I’m a black man making music.”
The crowd got irritated by the interruption and a few people started booing since they wanted more music
and less talking by the G.O.O.D. Music founder.
